Ethan Hunter is seventeen and a senior in high school on the day that Brian Leeman comes to speak to the students of Monroe High School. Ethan has been raised by a single mother, Cassie, who was just a teenager herself when she gave birth to him. He's never had a father in his life, but what he doesn't know is that he's about to become a father himself. Ethan's made some mistakes in his life, but this may be the worst one of all. He worries how he'll even tell his mother. He's alone, scared and he doesn't know what to do... Until Brian comes and shares his story with the senior class of Monroe High. Ethan is sitting right in the front row as Brian speaks on stage and at first, he ridicules him. But the truth is, he sees a lot of himself in the young man standing in the high school auditorium, pleading with the students not to make the same mistakes he's made. Ethan doesn't know how or if he'll be able to turn his life around the way Brian has, but he's willing to try because he doesn't see any other way out. After the assembly, Ethan finds Brian in the school parking lot and he immediately apologizes to him for his behavior. His friendship with him starts off rocky, but Ethan soon realizes that Brian is slowly turning into a father figure. Ethan is slowly allowing him in, and Brian is becoming the father he's never had. Even though, Brian is the only twelve years older than him, he's the only one there for him as he faces the biggest challenge of his life with Brooke. But then, one rainy morning Ethan finally makes a decision about his future. He's rushing home to tell Brooke what he's decided when his car suddenly loses control and Ethan's life is cut tragically short. Although his life is over, Ethan's legacy lives on... His mother, Cassie has found unexpected love with Brian, almost as if it was predestined and Brian's younger brother Jeremy has recently come back into his life too, and has fallen hard for Brooke. He's even willing to step up and be a father to her and Ethan's son. Could all of this have been predestined? Is this truly Ethan's Legacy? And will Ethan's life be the final piece to Brian finally being able to repair his relationship with Jeremy for good?
