Emily Katzenbach suffered abuse, trauma, andself-denial during her childhood. As an adult she sought to find a way to alleviate the pain and confusion she continued to experience. Her love of dance led to her career pathway. She has a Master's Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy anda second Master's in Pastoral Studies. Her interpretive dancing and psychotherapeutic skills have provided healing, not only to herself, but also to countless others during her career. Defined, dance/movement therapy (DMT) is the psychotherapeutic use of movement and dance to support the intellectual, emotional, and motor functions of the body, where movement is interpreted more like a language. Movement can express aspects of a personality that a licensed therapist can be in tune with for a deeper connection in recovery therapy.
