"Be careful. The city plays by its own rules."While South Carolina will always be home, John Franklin finds himself thrust into the bustle of "the big city" when his family moves to Washington, D. C. in search of a fresh start. As a young Black man, he quickly learns, oftentimes the hard way, that the city is indeed completely different than anything he's ever known.
