Kolanutology in Umeogu's Metaphysics: A Philosophical Appraisal

There has been an ongoing attempt, in the recent time, to study Kolanut outside of its socio-religious perspective. One of such attempt is this "Kolanutology in Umeogu's Metaphysics: A Philosophical Appraisal. In this book, Ewezuga seeks to explore Umeogu's mastery treatment of Kolanut as a symbolic reality in Igbo culture. Kolanutology as an emerging discipline points to the indigenous science that studies Kola nut as a reality that is relevant in all spheres of Igbo thought and culture. Apart from its unitive role; as a symbol of communion with both the Supreme Being and dead ancestors, Kolanut serves as a restorer of values in Igbo society through many rituals that are associated with it. The author also attracted the attention of equality of persons and gender based issues in Kolanut rituals in this book. I therefore, strongly recommend this literally master piece to all and sundry, especially lovers of novel discipline.
