My songs are rarely planned. They typically just happen. Many begin with a thought that leads to an idea, that inspires a melody. One of the things I enjoy about the creative process is the mystery. Not knowing where it's going, other than that it's leading me to discover something I want to express. So I keep plugging away until it reveals itself to me. I don't look for things to write songs about, but rather wait for it to tap me on the shoulder and introduce itself to me.
