For nearly two billion Muslims, it constitutes the foundations of faith and guides their spirituality. It collects the words of Allah through the revelation made to the Prophet Muhammad. In clear language Youssef Seddik tells us how the Koran was constituted, how it spread in the world, what are the main readings and the different obediences to which they gave rise. This historical and scientific analysis offers Muslims and non-Muslims an essential key to understanding the history of civilizations.
