They were the top selling Soul group of the '70s and '80s having sold over 70 million albums worldwide and have received countless awards. 1981 brought with it the release of Something Special, their 15th studio album, in the same year they would win Favorite Band, Duo or Group in the Soul/Rhythm & Blues category at the American Music Awards and would once again feature Grammy Award winner, Eumir Deodato's special touch on production duties.
