Music For Long Attention
Herb Robertson & Double Infinitives
The criminally underrated trumpet player Herb Robertson, who influenced a lot of trumpet players including Dave Douglas, presents his Leo Records debut. He's backed by the Double Infinitives band, comprised of trombonists Steve Swell & Bob Hovey, guitarist Hans Tammen, bassist Chris Lough & drummer Tom Sayek. The music is indeed for long attention spans, with five pieces clocking in at over 70 minutes. Liner notes by Harvey Pekar.
