To Be Left on the King St. Platform
Aaron Durand
Does an opera singer have any words of his own inside him? Or is he nothing more than a wireless speaker made flesh? Conceived as an exercise in vulnerability, this short collection of poems is a peek into the life of your weird friend who always has his walls up. The end of a relationship, a chance meeting, a performance, a grappling with spirituality. Written between 2008-2019, each poem is a finger pointing at a particular moment in life. Nearly all have never been read by anyone. Left abandoned in journals, notepad apps, and scraps of paper. Until now.
