Risk (The Steve Wilson Trilogy) (Volume 1) Thomas Tarrin

Steve Wilson is a successful insurance underwriter trying to adapt to life without his beloved father; but when he loses his job, he starts to hear voices and it seems as if someone is trying to tell him something from beyond the grave. For years, he depended on his familiar routine and carefully structured days to keep his demons at bay; but now he?s isolated, with no money and spiralling debts. He starts to lose his mind. Help arrives in the form of ?Sunrise Debt Solutions? and its distinguished proprietor Keith Bartle. At first, Steve believes that Bartle is the answer to his prayers; but his relief soon turns to horror as Bartle slowly reveals his true and terrible agenda, inspired by a brutal regime on the other side of the world. Can Steve muster the strength to fight back and save himself or will he perish at the hands of a madman? A chance meeting reunites Steve with the beautiful Susie Wei who vows to help him, but when he discovers how Bartle was turned from an ambitious diplomat with a chip on his shoulder into a merciless gangster, he realises that he is beyond the help of others. Hardened and vengeful, Steve draws on the darkness from within him to strike back at Bartle and his accomplices and unleashes a bloody revenge against them: but is he more like Keith Bartle than he dares to admit? A new life on the Greenacre estate in London?s deprived East End gives Steve the chance to make a difference to a troubled community. As the strong-willed Chairman of the newly formed Neighbourhood Watch Committee, he soon establishes himself as the local authority figure, but when things don?t go according to plan, the ?Devil Voice? within him starts to take over. When he makes an enemy out of the deadly Duvani brothers from London?s most notorious crime family, it seems as if he has finally met his match. Can Steve and his Committee of loyal followers stand up to a relentless criminal force - or is the Chairman?s time in office about to come to a bloody end?
