A Bard's Tales Gloria Byrd

What would you do if you were tasked with saving a world that completely changed every sunrise and sunset, and you had never left home before? How about a rogue FBI agent whose genius brother was kidnapped and held for ransom? Or maybe you just want to stay in your secluded, comfy café filled with books which doubles as home until your peace and quiet is interrupted by an attractive, injured hiker. What if you were stuck in what could be a simulation, but escape meant death?

These are lands we can only brush with our imagination. This collection of 19 short stories paints heroines from worlds unexplored. Dragons (or draegynns) soar above castles housing legendary warriors who can command the fabled beasts. Animal-morphing teenagers living on a post-World War III Earth are threatened by returning humans from space as they also struggle with many issues adolescents do today. Star-crossed lovers from worlds of fire and water create more with their forbidden bond than we realize. A mermaid without memories struggles to explore her startling human past. The leader of a rebel group against royalty must judge a betrayer of his cause, his childhood crush, while he combats the madness creeping in from the use of his dragon-communicating powers. Heroes become villains, and villains become heroes. There are no ruts in this literary path to an enjoyable story; it provides endless twists, drama, and broken clichés. From "Moon Child" to "No Dice," this book contains genres including fantasy, science fiction, and realistic fiction with many elements that often wind themselves through all of them. Venture forth with relatable heroes and villains that show entire worlds girls can save themselves. Read this bard's tales for journeys through realms of magic, science, and high school. Even choosy readers can enjoy their pick of very different genres. This collection is perfect for on-the-go reading. This book is recommended for fans of The Lord of the Rings or Dragon Age.
