Where the Happiness Begins
Thuyen Huy
Luan runs away like a combatant who loses the battle. Hien plunges her life in to the troubles of the politically ambitious. As Ho Chi Minh's troops smash their way into Saigon, the political fallout leads to dramatic shifts of fortune. Luan is a prisoner of the Communist regime. Hien is a Communist high-ranking cadre, and is trapped in a loveless marriage. Luan, like many others, wants to quit Vietnam. Fate deals strange cards in this ultra-realistic novel of war-crossed romance. Thuyen Huy was born in the poor countryside of Tay Ninh province in South Vietnam. Prisoner of the Concentration and Re-education camp of the Communist Regime for 3 years after Saigon fell into Northern Communist Forces hands in the spring of 1975.
