Giving, A Step in Following Jesus Robert L Beehner

Giving may be the last step in following Jesus, but it may be the key to my personal integrity and holiness. And if many in the parish join in you will be a part of a prosperous parish with all the fruits we are called to share. "My favorite part, of course, is your unwrapping the connection between Holiness, Sacrifice and Integrity" Mary Ann Otto, Board Secretary ICSC" "Just this morning I was reviewing Pope Francis's apostolic exhortation Gaudete et Exultate. I noted his description / definition of holiness, 'Holiness is nothing other than charity lived to the full.' ... John Wooden, in his game-plan for life, has as his first principal: "Be true to your self" (Integrity?)...our true self is made to God's image and likeness. Your point, repeated often, regarding scarcity and abundance is crucial to the whole theology of stewardship. You have a strong pragmatic dimension regarding the gathering of financial resources." Bishop Emeritus Robert Morneau This writing is a collection of insights gained after overseeing 10 years of implementing stewardship concepts followed by a "giving-push" introduction. "I have seen the little amount most people give as well as the silence on instructing them on how much to give. My hope is that this glimpse makes a difference in our church. Most priests and bishops have not had this perspective. It is my prayer that all who read this are able to 'see' the possibilities." Deacon Bob Beehner Deacon Bob Beehner came from management in a heavy manufacturing environment from which he founded his own factory.
