A didactic strategy for the teaching-learning of transgenic crops is proposed for ninth grade students of basic secondary school in a public educational institution. As an initial activity, the students' previous knowledge about genetic engineering, transgenic crops and transgenic plants was explored. For this purpose, a diagnostic test was applied. Subsequently, a didactic strategy was designed based on the principles of meaningful learning and the development of critical thinking skills through the study and application of module 3 of the publication Bio-Adventure, showing that the strategy was satisfactory in 80% of the students.
