Does the abortion debate really matter? When the reasons women choose to have an abortion are taken into consideration, the debate does not matter. In arguing about the politics and ethics of abortion, some of us have lost track of more pressing issues like poverty, domestic violence, and related issues. Wherever one stands on the issue of abortion, improving quality of life for women and their families should be our goal. While it has proven difficult to find common ground, pro-lifers and pro-choicers now have common ground that makes it possible for them to work together. This work makes it clear why we should end the futile debate and take action together.
