Miles Davis | Miles '55
Craft Recordings presents Miles '55: The Prestige Recordings, an exclusive 3LP collection that delves into a pivotal year in Miles Davis’ career. In 1955, Davis stepped into Rudy Van Gelder’s legendary home studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, recording three sessions that marked the beginning of his first great quintet and the dawn of a new era in jazz.
These 16 tracks, carefully remastered from the original analog tapes by GRAMMY-winning engineer Paul Blakemore, are pressed on 180-gram vinyl with lacquers cut by Kevin Gray. The release includes newly written liner notes by music historian Ashley Kahn and session notes by Dan Morgenstern, offering deep insight into these landmark recordings.
