Rare Herbs (Black Vinyl)
Bobby Love
This 12' vinyl LP brings to light the career of yet another New Orleans musician whose local success should have been international. Keyboardist, flautist, arranger, bandleader, Love goes from straight-up jazz to Rick James type electro-funk. Featuring mid-to-late 70s recordings with his group the Uptown Rulers, the LP offers the best examples of the New Orleans take on Bar-Kays style post dance.
