December George Winston

“December” is the fourth solo piano album by American pianist George Winston (George Otis Winston III). It was recorded in the fall of 1982 and released by Windham Hill at the end of that year. The album – a tribute to the winter season – is the follow-up to “Winter Into Spring,” which had been released earlier in 1982. Winston noted in the liner notes that “December” was primarily inspired by five albums: Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” Howard Blake’s “The Snowman – Soundtrack From The Animation Of The Classic Raymond Briggs Children’s Story,” John Fahey’s “The New Possibility,” Joseph Byrd’s “A Christmas Yet To Come,” and Alfred S. Burt’s “This Is Christmas”
