Childhood's End

Phil Sawyer

Black Friday 2024 Peach & Purple Marbled edition

In 1971, Phil Sawyer, a Tasmanian poet and Abalone diver, emerged from Australia’s vibrant psychedelic scene with "Childhood’s End," released on the revered Sweet Peach label. Born from Sawyer’s reflective moments between diving seasons, the album is a rare blend of acid rock and folk rock that resonates deeply with collectors of 70s psychedelic gems. Sawyer’s compositions evoke profound introspection, drawing comparisons to Procol Harum, the Moody Blues, and Cat Stevens, while reflecting his Tasmanian roots and poetic musings. This 2024 reissue celebrates Sawyer’s visionary work, presenting "Childhood’s End" on heavyweight colored vinyl in a deluxe gatefold format, complemented by liner notes that delve into his artistic journey and the cultural backdrop that shaped this timeless album. A precious rediscovery for psychedelic rock aficionados and folk enthusiasts alike, "Childhood’s End" invites listeners on a transcendent musical journey through Sawyer’s unique perspective.
