A legend all across Europe (it doesn't hurt that she has sung in 12 different languages), Caterina Valente was born in Paris-but the songs and language of Italy were closest to her heart, as both her parents were Italian (and musicians). This unprecedented collection rounds up all 115 of her 1959-66 Italian-language recordings: traditional Italian favorites, film songs, covers of classics, jazz standards and one very special centerpiece: The CD debut of the Italian version of her complete 1963 bossa-nova album with Luiz Bonf+í! As a matter of fact, 80 of these tracks have not yet been on CD; Italian recordings of a Fine Romance; When I Fall in Love; Stardust; Blue Moon, and I'm in the Mood for Love plus songs from Black Orpheus, the Umbrellas of Cherbourg and the Possessed join Felicita; Personalita; Amor; La Ruota; Twist a Napoli; Il Mio Amore; Non Dimenticar; Corcovado; Stella Mia; Poco E Tutto; Sorrise; Forza Papa; Libero, and more.
